Microsorum pteropus, also known as Java Fern, grows 15â30 cm tall and should be attached to driftwood or rocksânever bury the rhizome, or it may rot. It propagates easily by splitting the horizontal rhizome. The black spots under its leaves are natural sporangia (reproductive organs), not disease. Thrives in a wide range of aquarium conditions.
